Most couples have a general idea of what they'd like their big day to look and feel like. But if I had to guess the likelihood is that from the moment you set out to bring that vision to life the stream of pinterest and instagram inspiration just got a little too overwhelming. Not to mention the opinion everyone else's in your life seems to have on how you should plan YOUR wedding!
There are no doubt an incredible list of vendors across the Auckland region and beyond that live and breath weddings and are passionate about helping you bring your vision to life. I've curated my list of tips and vendors to help you turn that pinterest board into a reality!
Finding a venue:
We are pretty lucky when it comes to venues in NZ with some seriously amazing spaces!! Choosing a space that not only fits the vibe of your day but accommodates your needs such as guest count, accommodation and location.
Here are some of my favourite venues in Auckland
Defining Your Style:
Identify your wedding style—romantic, modern, elegant, fun.—and how it influences your design choices.
*Pro tip: if you are finding it hard to choose there's always the possibility of combining tow styles and creating something that feels unique to you*
Identify what colours you'd like featured on your day. This can be a hard one, I know! if you're in between colours look at combining colour pallets you might not have thought of.
E.g. If you love the look of an all white wedding but also like the idea of having colour why not have a white base with pops of colour here and there.

Choosing the Right Florist:
it can be heard to see past all the never ending inspiration over pinterest and instagram and deciding what it is your should be looking for in a florist.
Here are some things my clients have said helped them when it came to deciding we were the right florist for them.
Style and design - Every florist has their own unique style, that might not be to every couples taste. The most obvious tip is to enquire with a florist who's work you love. Theres not point in asking a florist to replicate another designer work. Because trust me when I say you will. Be. Disappointed!
Their process - I'm gonna go ahead and say this.... Florists have a pretty bad track record when it comes to communication. How present are they on socials and what is their booking process? My client's have told me that a big reason they booked us was because they new exactly what they were going to get, we keep things very transparent around here! And we've made sure to remove any unnecessary back and forth over email or stress because you just don't have time to be waiting around for weeks to hear back from a vendor. Book a call
Minimum spend - This one, you may not have heard of before. Many florists including me have a minimum spends in order to continue creating work we love and running and profitable business. When you know roughly how much you would like to spend on florals make sure to check a florists minimum spend is to avoid wasting your time.
Connection - I think its safe to say that your vendors will play a big part in your day and you want to get along with them. Part of the reason I love being a florist is meeting so many amazing couples. It truly does make the process so much more enjoyable.
Now that you've got the basics covered here are some honourable mentions to really help you bring that pinterest board vision to life!
